Racing for play-in qualification, Élan Chalon claimed a decisive home victory at the Colisée this Saturday evening against direct competitor SLUC Nancy (103-73) in round 25 of Betclic ELITE.

Gaudoux – Hill duo shines at the Colisée

One thing is certain, Elric Delord’s recipe is working well in Chalon-sur-Saône. In a game controlled from start to finish, the Burgundians clearly won at home against Nancy. Efficient in attack and dominant in the paint, the home team quickly pulled ahead in the first half, taking advantage of their opponents’ defensive lapses. With an 18-point lead at halftime (51-33, 20′), Élan Chalon delivered a true offensive showcase in twenty minutes.

A crucial victory for play-in prospects

Unable to contain Lionel Gaudoux (16 points on 8/10 shooting, 10 rebounds and 4 assists), Jeremiah Hill (28 points on 9/17 shooting and 7 assists) and their teammates, Sylvain Lautié’s men saw the gap grow to 20 points in the middle of the third quarter (64-44, 25′). Starting from too far behind, SLUC Nancy, despite fighting until the end, never managed to close the gap. Worse, Chalon resumed their momentum to pull further ahead. A heavy defeat (103-73) for Nancy (10th with 12 wins and 13 losses) against a direct competitor for play-in qualification. Élan Chalon (7th with 12 wins and 13 losses) continues to impress and ride an excellent wave of momentum.
