Egor Demin sets NBA rookie record and leads Brooklyn to victory against Utah

Egor Demin made NBA history Friday night in Salt Lake City. The young Brooklyn Nets rookie set a new record by hitting at least one 3-pointer in his 34th consecutive game, contributing significantly to his team’s 109-99 victory against the Utah Jazz.
An exceptional performance to break the curse
The young phenom finished the game with 25 points and 10 rebounds, making 6 of his 12 three-point attempts. His record was established on Brooklyn’s first basket, setting the tone for a memorable evening for the Nets who ended a seven-game losing streak.
Cam Thomas provided valuable support with 21 points, while Day’ron Sharpe contributed 16 points and 9 rebounds. Danny Wolf added 14 points to the collective effort. Brooklyn dominated Utah in second-chance points, winning that battle 20-2. Starting player Nolan Traoré recorded 7 points and 6 assists in 25 minutes.
Utah falls despite George’s efforts
For the Jazz, Keyonte George led the offense with 26 points and 7 assists, but his efforts weren’t enough. Brice Sensabaugh contributed 18 points off the bench, Kyle Filipowski recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Ace Bailey added 12 points. This defeat marks Utah’s fifth consecutive loss, having won only one of their last ten games.
The turning point came at the start of the fourth quarter, when Brooklyn went on an 8-0 run capped by a Jalen Wilson three-pointer to take a 91-83 lead. Though Utah came back within two points on a Cody Williams dunk, Demin and Wolf combined to hit three three-pointers and extend the Nets’ lead to 100-90 with 4:45 remaining on the clock.
Both teams will be on the road Sunday: Brooklyn will face Detroit while Utah travels to Toronto to try to turn things around.
