Dubai, what a significant renewal! McKinley Wright renews for another three seasons

Dubai has finalized a three-year contract extension with McKinley Wright.

McKinley Wright, a key player for Dubai in the last EuroLeague season, has reached an agreement with the United Arab Emirates club to play there for the next three seasons.

As confirmed to 5th Quarter and us, McKinley Wright will stay in Dubai for 3 more years.

McKinley Wright IV began his European journey with KK Budućnost VOLI in 2023 after spending time in the NBA and G League. During the 2023–24 season, he quickly established himself as one of the team’s leaders, averaging around 10.5 points and 4.3 assists in the ABA League while helping Budućnost win the Montenegrin Championship.

In 2024–25, Wright took another step forward, averaging 12.8 points and 4.9 assists in the ABA League. He led Budućnost to the league’s best regular-season record, earned ABA League MVP honors, and was selected to the Ideal Starting Five. One of the highlights of his season was a dramatic game-winning buzzer-beater against Crvena zvezda in the playoff semifinals.

Following two successful years in Montenegro, Wright joined Dubai Basketball in the summer of 2025, making the move to both the ABA League and EuroLeague.

Overall, Wright has developed from a former NBA/G League guard into one of the most impactful point guards in European basketball, known for his leadership, playmaking, and clutch performances.
