The Serbian center continues to impress with his exceptional consistency. With 14 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, Nikola Jokic once again showcased his versatility in the Denver Nuggets‘ 136-119 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. This performance marks his 34th triple-double of the season.

A historic winning streak for the Nuggets

This tenth consecutive victory pushes Denver (52-28) into a position of strength in the Western Conference. The Nuggets consolidate their third place and now hold a 1.5-game lead over the struggling Los Angeles Lakers. This is the franchise’s longest winning streak since an impressive run of 15 consecutive wins between February and March 2013.

Jokic, who leads the NBA in both rebounds and assists, has already mathematically secured a triple-double average for the second consecutive season. His assist on Cam Johnson’s basket midway through the third quarter gave him the 198th triple-double of his career. The 2021 and 2022 MVP didn’t even need to play the fourth quarter.

Jamal Murray provided key offensive support with 26 points, while Jonas Valanciunas contributed 14 points in his 1,000th career NBA game.

For Memphis (25-55), Cedric Coward stood out with 27 points, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a sixth straight defeat. The Grizzlies have lost 18 of their last 20 games and are going through a particularly difficult stretch. After tying an NBA record with 29 three-pointers two days ago, Memphis fell back into old habits, hitting only 19 of 50 attempts from beyond the arc.

The Grizzlies had actually started well, converting 13 of their 27 three-point attempts in the first half to lead 72-68. But Denver took control by dominating the third quarter 31-13 over the final 7 minutes and 51 seconds of the period, sealing the outcome for good.
