The Milwaukee Bucks dominated the Dallas Mavericks 123-99 Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum, ending a four-game losing streak. Ryan Rollins led the Bucks’ offense with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists, while Kyle Kuzma added 20 points in a convincing team performance.
This game was a makeup contest originally scheduled for January 25, but postponed due to a snowstorm that had prevented the Mavericks from leaving Dallas. Both teams, eliminated from playoff contention, delivered an uneven spectacle where Milwaukee (30-45) took control from the first period.
Cooper Flagg, who was averaging 22.5 points over his last nine games, had a difficult evening with 19 points on 19 shot attempts. The Mavericks’ rookie star still managed his 12th double-double of the season by grabbing 10 rebounds, but his 3-point struggles persist since returning from a foot injury.
The Bucks took a 65-51 lead at halftime thanks to 17 points from Rollins and 16 from Kuzma. Milwaukee then blew the game open in the second half by hitting 11 of their first 22 three-point attempts, extending their lead to 31 points.
AJ Green contributed 17 points off the bench for Milwaukee, while Gary Trent Jr. added 13 points. For Dallas (24-52), Brandon Williams scored 18 points and John Poulakidas set a personal record with 11 points.
This victory allows the Bucks to win their eighth consecutive meeting against the Mavericks and complete a 2-0 season sweep. Milwaukee, which had gone 3-14 in their previous 17 games, rediscovered offensive efficiency by shooting 50% from the field in the first period.
The Mavericks lost Daniel Gafford late in the third quarter after a fall during an attempted block on Rollins. This right elbow injury further weakened an already decimated roster, with notable absences of Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, PJ Washington and Kyrie Irving
Both franchises now continue their difficult end of season, with Dallas hosting Orlando Friday while Milwaukee travels to Houston Wednesday. This game at least allowed the Bucks to smile again after a rough stretch, even if the stakes remain limited for these two rebuilding teams.
