Christmas Games, Rivals Week, All-Star… the mouthwatering NBA schedule

The NBA has officially unveiled the complete schedule for the 2025-2026 season. This will be the league’s 80th regular season. It promises to be exceptional thanks to new broadcast partners and exciting matchups throughout the year.
An explosive Opening Night with return to NBC
The season will begin on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, with a historic double-header. First, at 1:30 AM (French time), Oklahoma City Thunder, the reigning champions, will face the Houston Rockets. Then, at 4 AM, the Los Angeles Lakers will challenge the Golden State Warriors. Additionally, this evening will mark NBA’s return to NBC and its debut on Peacock, after several years of absence.
The spectacle will begin right from the first week. Wednesday night will feature Knicks – Cavaliers and Mavericks – Spurs, notably including Victor Wembanyama’s grand return. Thursday will offer a rematch of the latest Finals with Pacers – Thunder, as well as the Warriors – Nuggets clash between the 2022 and 2023 champions.

The season’s must-see events
The 2025-2026 calendar is packed with special events. The Emirates NBA Cup will start on October 31 with eight games, including the Celtics – 76ers clash at 1 AM. The traditional Christmas Games on December 25 will feature five matchups, notably Thunder – Spurs at 7:30 PM and Lakers – Rockets at 11 PM.
Martin Luther King Day, scheduled for January 19, 2026, will showcase nine games including Cavaliers – Thunder at 8:30 PM. Rivals Week will take place from January 20 to 24 with matchups focused on historical rivalries such as Nuggets – Lakers on January 20 at 4 AM or Lakers – Clippers on January 22 at 4 AM.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend will be held from February 13 to 15 in Los Angeles, featuring a new USA vs World format for the All-Star game. The regular season will end on April 12, 2026, with all 30 teams playing simultaneously, before the start of the SoFi Play-In Tournament on April 14 and playoffs on April 18.
This 2025-2026 season promises to be one of the most exciting with its new broadcast partners, prestigious matchups, and technological innovations to facilitate access to streaming games.
