Caitlin Clark is expanding her influence beyond the basketball court with an upcoming children’s book that draws directly from her personal experiences. Random House Books for Young Readers announced Tuesday that the WNBA star’s picture book, titled « EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, » will hit shelves on November 3rd.
The 24-year-old Indiana Fever guard has crafted her story in rhyming verse, delivering a powerful message about the importance of effort and support in pursuing dreams. The book features illustrations by Adriana Predoi and stems from a deeply personal source of inspiration for Clark.
A childhood motto becomes literary inspiration
The concept for Clark’s book originated from an inscription that hung above the mirror in her childhood bedroom: « The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA. » This simple yet profound message has clearly shaped the basketball star’s approach to life and now serves as the foundation for her literary debut.

« Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way, » Clark said in a statement. « I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary. »
Clark, widely credited with raising the profile of women’s basketball, recently returned to action after injuries limited her to just 13 games in 2025. She demonstrated her continued impact on the court by scoring seven points Saturday in a preseason victory over the New York Liberty, showing that her recovery is progressing well as she prepares for another season with the Fever.
The children’s book represents another milestone in Clark’s remarkable journey, allowing her to share her story with a new generation of dreamers while reinforcing the values that have driven her success both on and off the basketball court.
