The Boston Celtics delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night at TD Garden, defeating the Golden State Warriors 120-99. This victory marks the third consecutive win for the Celtics, powered by the offensive excellence of the Jaylen Brown – Jayson Tatum duo.
Brown Lights Up the First Quarter
Jaylen Brown set the tone from the opening tip, scoring 23 of his 32 points in the first half. The Celtics guard was particularly brilliant in the first quarter with 19 points on 8/9 shooting, allowing Boston to quickly take command (36-23).
« Brown played like he was at the park rather than in an NBA arena », observers in attendance noted. His performance allowed him to climb another rung in franchise history, reaching 10th place on the Celtics’ all-time scoring list.

Jayson Tatum was not far behind, adding 24 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double since returning from an Achilles tendon injury. This marks his fifth performance of at least 20 points in six games played this season.
Warriors Helpless Despite Porzingis’ Return
Despite the return of Kristaps Porzingis (11 points, 5 rebounds) who was back at TD Garden for the first time since winning a championship with Boston in 2023-2024, the Warriors never managed to threaten the home team. The former Celtics center received a standing ovation during a tribute video shown between the first and second quarters.
Gary Payton II and Pat Spencer led the Warriors’ offense with 14 points each, while Draymond Green and Gui Santos added 13 points. But without Stephen Curry (right knee injury), the Warriors suffered their sixth loss in seven games, sliding to 10th place in the Western Conference with a record of 33-36.
Boston dominated the rebounding battle (49-39) and was more accurate from 3-point range (35.9% versus 23.3% for Golden State). The Celtics (46-23) solidified their second place in the East and head to Memphis Grizzlies Friday night to continue their excellent run of eight wins in eleven games.
