Bourges loses in Vilnius, 11 points to recover at Prado to qualify for EuroLeague season

After more than five months without an official game, Tango Bourges Basket returned to competition this Thursday evening in Lithuania. Against Kibirkstis Vilnius, Tango alternated between good and less good moments before falling in a fatal last quarter (25-11). Result: a 75-64 defeat and a major challenge to overcome in a week at Prado: win by at least 12 points to qualify for the 2025-2026 EuroLeague season.
Bourges had taken the lead before collapsing
Caught cold by Lithuanian shooting accuracy (14-5, 3rd), Olivier Lafargue’s players reacted to tie at 18-18 after ten minutes. Led by Kariata Diaby and Marie Paule Foppossi, they even took the lead in the third quarter, building up to a 5-point advantage (51-46, 29th).
But on the other side, Kamile Nacickaite-Van der Horst, former Tango Bourges Basket player during the 2023-2024 season, showed her talent. Quiet in the third quarter, the Lithuanian international revived Vilnius at the perfect moment to finish with 25 points (shooting 5/6 from 3-point range). Her shots and those of Zaay Green severely hurt Bourges, who struggled with shooting and were hampered by 17 turnovers.

Prado on a mission
The final score (75-64) gives Vilnius an 11-point advantage before the return leg. Bourges has no choice: they will need to win by more than 11 points at Prado next Wednesday (8:00 PM) to secure another participation in the EuroLeague regular season, scheduled to start from October 8.
