Tango Bourges Basket continues its strong run in Boulangère Wonderligue. This Sunday at Prado, the Bourges team dominated Charleville-Mézières Flammes Carolo (80-66) to secure a sixth consecutive victory and climb to second place in the standings, just one point behind leader Basket Landes.

Despite a difficult start where Charleville-Mézières took an early lead (5-9), Bourges managed to turn things around thanks to Inès Pitarch Granel‘s acceleration (8 points, 2 rebounds). The home team took control of the game and built a significant first gap at the end of the first quarter (23-17), benefiting from their accuracy at the free throw line (13/14 in the first half).

The Ardennes team showed great character in the second period, even tying the score with an 11-2 run (34-34) before taking the lead in the third quarter. Coline Franchelin (14 points, 13 assists) found solutions to direct Charleville-Mézières’ offense, while Noémie Brochant (14 points, 4 rebounds) caught fire from 3-point range with a series of three consecutive three-pointers to give the visitors the advantage (47-49).

But Bourges, strong on its collective foundations, firmly regained control thanks to its inside players. Kariata Diaby (14 points, 12 rebounds) did damage in the paint, well supported by Maëva Djaldi-Tabdi to create necessary screens. A 6-0 run at the end of the third quarter gave Tango back the advantage (56-50).

The final act belonged to Alix Duchet. The former international point guard (38 caps) took command of the game by scoring the first seven points of the fourth quarter to create the decisive gap (63-52). Precise and incisive, she finished the game with her career-high (22 points including 4/9 from 3-point range, 3 assists), managing the situation perfectly to extinguish Charleville’s last hopes.
