After an 18-month absence, Betclic ELITE returns to free television. On Friday, Brice Daumin, CEO of DAZN France – the championship’s main broadcaster – confirmed the agreement with L’Équipe Channel reports L’Équipe. Starting September 28, one game will be scheduled every Sunday at 7 PM, a strategic time slot to attract a wide audience.

ASVEL and Nancy to kick off the televised season

The very first televised matchup will feature ASVEL against SLUC Nancy on September 28. The programming will favor clubs competing in EuroLeague, who regularly play on Sundays to accommodate their European schedule (games on Tuesday/Wednesday and/or Thursday/Friday). This ensures attractive matchups every week.

An enhanced DAZN offering

Meanwhile, DAZN has detailed its schedule for the season: one game on Friday at 8:30 PM, a multiplex on Saturday from 6 PM (with an additional game at 8:30 PM), then two featured games on Sunday at 4:30 PM and 7 PM. Another important announcement: the basketball package price has been reduced. The subscription now costs 9.99 euros per month, making championship access more affordable for fans.

A long-awaited return to free TV

This renewed visibility is a relief for both clubs and the LNB, concerned with giving French basketball the media exposure it deserves. After several seasons on free TV (notably on L’Équipe Channel between 2020 and 2022), Betclic ELITE’s return to free television should help reach new audiences and support the sport’s growing popularity.
