The victory showcased Baskonia’s depth and quality, as they overcame a spectacular individual performance from Ukrainian center Artem Pustovyi, who recorded 23 points, 13 rebounds, and a 35 efficiency rating for the hosts.
Early exchanges set competitive tone
The game began with intense exchanges between a desperate MoraBanc Andorra side and Kosner Baskonia, who arrived after two consecutive EuroLeague games. Žan Tabak‘s team found inspiration through Pustovyi‘s early 11 points and shooting guard Sir’Jabari Rice‘s 6-point contribution. The hosts managed to take a 17-14 lead, but Paolo Galbiati’s squad responded through Luwawu-Cabarrot and Omoruyi‘s leadership, closing the first quarter with a 21-25 advantage.
A crucial 2-8 run in the final stretch gave Kosner Baskonia the edge, breaking the tight contest between Tabak and Galbiati’s teams. The second period began to favor the visitors from the 37-38 mark, as Forrest and Luwawu-Cabarrot extended the lead to 39-46. Tabak’s team held on until their physical strength lasted.

Baskonia pulls away decisively
After halftime, Kosner Baskonia quickly sealed the contest. MoraBanc disappeared from the court during a devastating 7-17 run, falling behind by 17 points at 46-63. Andorra forgot both how to score and defend against opponents with higher aspirations and EuroLeague-level quality. The hosts managed to improve the scoreline with a 9-3 run, ending the third quarter at 54-66.
MoraBanc attempted a heroic comeback, cutting the deficit to 9 points (60-69) within three minutes of the final period. Gradually, Tabak’s team continued reducing the gap, forcing Paolo Galbiati to call timeout at 64-71. Luwawu-Cabarrot stepped up with five consecutive points to restore control.
With 3:30 remaining, Shannon Evans II scored four straight points to make it 73-78. However, a 3-pointer from Spagnolo, a 2+1 from Diakite, and two points from Fischer sealed the victory at 75-86 with 1:56 left on the clock.
The defeat keeps MoraBanc Andorra in the relegation zone for another matchday, facing two consecutive away games ahead. Meanwhile, Baskonia demonstrated their superior depth and experience in a contest played before 3,289 spectators at the Toni Martí Pavilion in Andorra la Vella.
