Basket Landes: Lacan, Djekoundade, Wojta… departures confirmed after the French championship title

La Boulangère Wonderligue - Basket Landes reveals the list of players leaving for the 2026-2027 season. Leïla Lacan, MVP of the season, will not be returning, nor will Julie Wojta, Myriam Djekoundade, Yohana Ewodo and Louise Bussiere. Five players, however, are confirmed in the roster.

The day after a historic French championship title, Basket Landes wasted no time turning the page. On Monday May 18, the club from Landes held a ceremony at the Espace François Mitterrand in Mont-de-Marsan — the very arena where the players had been crowned the night before — to announce departures and retained players ahead of the 2026-2027 season.

Leïla Lacan, MVP of the season, takes her bow

The big announcement of the evening is undoubtedly the departure of Leïla Lacan. The point guard, named MVP of the season, will not be extending her adventure with Basket Landes. Given a standing ovation by the fans present, she took the microphone, visibly moved, to deliver a heartfelt message as reported by Ici Gascogne:

« I found here exactly what I came looking for, and I’m not just talking about results or victories — it was also all of you. I leave with many great memories. I want to thank my teammates this year, it was exceptional and I know we don’t always get that chance. Thank you all. »

An emotional speech that reflects the player’s deep attachment to this club, despite a separation that marks the end of an era.

Four other departures confirmed for Basket Landes

Leïla Lacan is not the only one leaving Landes, as reported by Sud-Ouest. The club has also confirmed the departures of her friend Julie Wojta, Yohana Ewodo, Myriam Djekoundade, and Louise Bussiere, who had been expected at Basket Landes. The American Julie Wojta, 37 years old, confirmed that this season was the last of her professional career — a retirement that closes a high-level career.

These five departures represent a genuine overhaul for a team that will need to rebuild around its confirmed players while preserving the DNA of a championship-winning group.

A solid foundation to rebuild on

Despite these numerous departures, Basket Landes can count on a core group heading into next season. Camille Droguet, Marie Pardon, Sixtine Macquet, Becky Massey and Murjanatu Musa are officially confirmed in the 2026-2027 roster.

Another strong sign of continuity: the coaching staff has been retained in full. Olivier Constant, Marie-Julie Levant and especially Julie Barennes keep their positions, as does Céline Dumerc, the club’s sporting director. This behind-the-scenes stability should ease the on-court transition, as the upcoming weeks of recruitment will be crucial to keeping the club at the highest level.
