Process Corporation reviews the strengths and weaknesses of Team France, who faces Greece this Sunday in their final preparation match.
In his analysis, Hugo Vincent emphasizes the impressive defensive solidity of Les Bleus during preparation. « France dominated defensively during preparation, » he explains, backed by numbers. Coach Frédéric Fauthoux’s men forced 22 turnovers on average and show a defensive efficiency of 0.82 points per possession.
However, the offensive situation is more concerning. With only 42% field goal percentage, a poor 22% from behind the arc and 0.83 points per possession, the French team has shown offensive limitations. « The French team’s lowest total at the Olympics was 0.88PPP against the Germans, » recalls Tunisia’s assistant coach.
According to him, the gap is mainly in three-point shooting. « The players in the selection are less accurate, but that’s not the only criterion. It’s also related to the opponent and the type of shots obtained, » he explains in his video. To succeed at the Euro, France will need to find more solutions from distance.
Hugo Vincent remains optimistic: the Blues’ interior strength and competition dynamics should allow key players to emerge. « To make shots, you also need to respond to the pressure and challenge of the Euro. Leaders will naturally emerge, competition has that magic, » he concludes.
