Alexandre Lacoste
Alexandre Sarr (2.16 m, 20 years old) did not participate in the French team’s collective training session on Monday, September 1st in Katowice. The Washington Wizards center, who injured his calf against Slovenia, remains uncertain for Tuesday’s decisive match against Poland.
Last Saturday, Alexandre Sarr shone during France’s victory over Slovenia (103-95). However, the young center injured his calf in the opening minutes, continuing to play nonetheless before being rested the following day against Israel. Additional medical examinations were conducted and Frédéric Fauthoux had suggested there was a « small chance » of seeing him on the court this Tuesday.
This Monday in Katowice, Sarr remained in civilian clothes to observe his teammates prepare for the crucial clash against Poland, which is vital in the battle for a favorable position in the final phase. His participation therefore remains uncertain, and the French staff may have to manage without one of their key interior players.
