The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on September 6 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the « birthplace of basketball ». Carmelo Anthony, one of the iconic figures of the 2025 class, will be presented by two NBA legends: Allen Iverson and Dwyane Wade.

A dream trio becomes a prestigious duo
Anthony had initially expressed his wish to have three presenters by his side: Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade and Michael Jordan. « I’m trying to get all three. You only get inducted once… My life has been influenced by more than one person, so I need all three of them, » he declared in May during his appearance on Paul George’s podcast.
Unfortunately, Michael Jordan will not be present, likely due to scheduling conflicts. Despite this absence, Anthony will have two figures who have marked both his career and personal life.
Allen Iverson, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016, was Anthony’s teammate on the Denver Nuggets between 2006 and 2008. Together, they formed one of the most formidable offensive duos of their era. Anthony actually averaged 28.9 points during their first season together.
Bonds forged on the court and at the Olympics
Dwyane Wade, inducted in 2023, shares a different but equally significant history with Anthony. Although they never played together in the NBA, the two men were teammates during the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. After the disappointment of bronze in Athens in 2004, they contributed to the gold medal of the famous « Redeem Team » in Beijing in 2008.
Members of the famous 2003 draft class with LeBron James, Anthony and Wade developed a lasting friendship over the years. They are part of the famous « Banana Boat Crew » with Chris Paul, a nickname given after their shared vacations.
The 2025 Hall of Fame class also includes Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore. More than 50 Hall of Fame members are expected to attend this ceremony celebrating one of the most prolific careers in NBA history, with an average of 22.5 points over 19 seasons.
