The Spurs star finished the game with an excellent 9 of 14 from the field, once again demonstrating his offensive versatility. Wembanyama also dished out six assists, including a crucial one to De’Aaron Fox who hit a 3-pointer giving the Spurs a 131-123 lead with 1:24 remaining.

Cooper Flagg continues his historic career start
Despite the loss, Cooper Flagg extended his exceptional streak by scoring 32 points, marking his fourth consecutive game with over 30 points. The 19-year-old rookie now holds the NBA record for the most consecutive games with at least 30 points by a teenager.
That outing puts Cooper Flagg in rare company. He became just the fifth rookie since the 1976–77 merger—alongside Michael Jordan, Bernard King, Allen Iverson and Jalen Green—to score 30-plus points in four straight games. Most of the damage came after halftime, when Flagg poured in 22 points to help the Dallas Mavericks erase a 13-point deficit and get within one.
The San Antonio Spurs countered with depth and balance, placing seven players in double figures. Harrison Barnes scored 19, while Stephon Castle added 18 points and seven rebounds, punctuating his night with a highlight dunk. For Dallas, Naji Marshall matched Flagg with 32 points, and Daniel Gafford chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds—hours after the trade deadline passed with his name still firmly on the roster.
This loss extends the Mavericks’ losing streak to six consecutive defeats, their longest of the season. The two teams will meet again Saturday in San Antonio for the rematch.
