Tyrese Haliburton Opens Up About His Rehab After Achilles Tendon Injury

The Pacers star, Tyrese Haliburton, continues his long rehabilitation after rupturing his Achilles tendon during the 2025 NBA Finals. The point guard recently opened up about the mental difficulties he’s experiencing during this period of forced absence that will keep him off the court for the entire season.
« I think about it every time I blink, » Haliburton confided about his injury, according to The Athletic. « I think about it all the time. I don’t know if I’ll ever stop thinking about it, but you have to understand that you need to move forward. »
A Rehabilitation Process Filled with Psychological Obstacles
The 25-year-old player is discovering firsthand the isolation that comes with long-term rehabilitation. Haliburton doesn’t hide that this ordeal is testing him mentally, with ups and downs that are difficult to manage.
« It’s been tough, » admitted the Pacers star. « Honestly, there have been a lot of good days and a lot of bad days, and I’ve struggled a bit with that. »
To get through this difficult period, Haliburton relies on support from other NBA players going through the same ordeal. He maintains particularly close ties with Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics and Dejounte Murray of the New Orleans Pelicans, both also rehabilitating from Achilles tendon ruptures.
« Jayson and I talk a lot, » Haliburton revealed. « Dejounte has been great with me. We didn’t really have a cool relationship, it was just an NBA relationship, but Dejounte has checked in on me so often since I got injured. Dejounte is really a good guy and I appreciate him tremendously. »
Unlike Tatum and Murray, who could return this season thanks to an earlier injury, the Pacers have already ruled out their leader for the entire 2024-2025 season. The absence of their floor general is being sorely felt, with Indiana occupying last place in the Eastern Conference with a disastrous record of 9 wins and 31 losses.
