An anticipated return to structure Dijon’s game

Presented as a priority by sports management, recruiting an experienced point guard was a major focus of Dijon’s summer transfer window. With Justin Bibbins, JDA secures an experienced, dynamic player who knows the championship well. After notable stints at Élan Béarnais and Nanterre, the Californian continued his career in Italy this season, averaging 12.5 points and 5.1 assists in Lega Basket Serie A with Sassari.

A central piece of the 2025-2026 project

In Tuesday’s press release, Sports Director Fabien Romeyer emphasizes the major role Bibbins is expected to play in the team: « As a true cornerstone of our playing system, we were looking for a legitimate player capable of providing solid guarantees and willing to commit to a medium-term project. Justin checks all the boxes. »

This recruitment is part of an ambitious offseason for Dijon, which has already extended Gregor Hrovat’s contract and announced Quentin Losser’s arrival. With Bibbins at point guard and Axel Julien’s return alongside him, JDA hopes to return to the top of Betclic ELITE. However, David Holston’s future, another historic club point guard, remains undecided.

Bibbins: « Very happy to join Dijon »

In his first statement as a Dijon player, Justin Bibbins expressed his enthusiasm: « I’m very happy to join Dijon! A club I know very well, especially for its victories and incredible fans. I can’t wait to play in front of you and show my energy on the court. »

After winning the French Cup with Pau and shining at Nanterre, Bibbins now enters a new chapter at Dijon, aiming to carry La Jeanne’s colors high on the national stage.
