Tim Hardaway Jr. signs with Denver Nuggets for one season

The Denver Nuggets continue their impressive recruitment by securing Tim Hardaway Jr. for one season. The 33-year-old guard, who had a convincing campaign with the Detroit Pistons, becomes Denver’s fourth major addition since the opening of Free Agency, after Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown and Jonas Valanciunas.

A High-Quality Offseason for Denver
Tim Hardaway Jr. arrives in Colorado after playing 77 games as a starter with Detroit last season, a personal record in his 12-year NBA career. The former Dallas Mavericks player averaged 11 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, with an excellent 37% three-point shooting percentage that will be valuable for the Nuggets’ second unit.
This signing is part of a remarkable offseason orchestrated by Denver’s new management. After trading Michael Porter Jr. for Cam Johnson and acquiring Jonas Valanciunas by sending Dario Saric to the Sacramento Kings, the Nuggets also brought back Bruce Brown. These moves directly address Nikola Jokic’s concerns about roster depth.
An Offensive Boost for David Adelman
Tim Hardaway Jr. will bring his experience and ability to punish opposing defenses from behind the arc. Although not known for his defensive qualities, his offensive potential and scoring ability will make him a valuable asset off the bench. The veteran, who just completed a four-year, $75 million contract, should benefit from Nikola Jokic’s passes to maximize his impact.
David Adelman’s rotation now takes on a whole new dimension with Brown, Valanciunas, Hardaway Jr., Julian Strawther, and Peyton Watson. Twenty-three years after his father Tim Hardaway, the son also joins the Nuggets in an offseason that places Denver among the big winners of the transfer market, just behind the Houston Rockets according to observers.
