Prime Video unveils its NBA coverage in France: 29 prime time games and expert lineup

Prime Video is set to revolutionize NBA broadcasting in France. Amazon’s platform will begin a historic 11-year partnership with the American league on October 25, as part of a massive $76 billion contract (€64.7 billion) extending until 2036.

The French offering is particularly generous for Prime subscribers, who will receive at no extra cost 86 regular season games, including 29 in European prime time – likely all Sunday night games. Also included: the NBA Cup, all play-in games, nearly half of the playoffs, one conference final each season, and the NBA Finals for six of the eleven contract years, including the next one in 2026.

A French cast combining expertise and diversity

Prime Video has invested in an ambitious editorial team to attract French audiences. The expert panel includes 2009 European champion and 2012 Olympic silver medalist Isabelle Yacoubou, 2021 Tokyo bronze medalist Diandra Tchatchouang, and Simon Darnauzan, former point guard who played for Bourg-en-Bresse and Besançon. They will be joined by three journalists: Clément Halberstadt, Maximilien Le Liard, and Benoît Daniel.

For purists, an option will allow switching to American commentary. Pre and post-game shows will be from the US, with French subtitles, featuring star consultants like Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, and Dwyane Wade.

The kickoff will be on Saturday, October 25 at 1:30 AM with Boston-New York Knicks, followed by Minnesota-Los Angeles Lakers at 4 AM. French fans will also be able to watch the European games in Berlin and London on January 15 and 18, featuring Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies.
