Player Profile

Nicknamed "The President" for his remarkable intelligence on and off the court, Malcolm Brogdon perfectly embodies the accomplished student-athlete who has turned every obstacle into an opportunity. At the University of Virginia, this 6'5" guard first had to deal with a foot injury that forced him to miss an entire year, but that setback only strengthened his resolve. Holding a degree in history and a master's in public policy, Brogdon wrote one of the most brilliant chapters in college basketball history by becoming the first player ever in the ACC to simultaneously win the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards.

This exceptional versatility, combining offensive finesse with elite defense, earned him the retirement of his number 15 jersey by Virginia. Selected 36th overall by Milwaukee in the 2016 draft, Brogdon quickly proved that franchises were wrong to pass on him in the first round. His NBA journey has taken him from the Bucks to the Pacers, then to the Celtics, the Trail Blazers, and finally the Wizards, where he continues to bring his natural leadership and court vision.

A leading assist man in several games with Team USA at the 2015 Pan American Games, where he claimed the bronze medal, Brogdon possesses that rare ability to elevate his teammates' level of play. His basketball intelligence and maturity, forged as much in lecture halls as on the court, make him a valuable asset for any ambitious team seeking a reliable leader in crucial moments.
