Originally from Amsterdam, New York, Jackson Jr. established himself as a star at The Albany Academy before representing the United States at the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Tournament in 2018. Recruited by renowned universities such as UCLA, Maryland, and Syracuse, he ultimately chose the University of Connecticut — a decision that would prove pivotal to his career.
His college journey perfectly illustrates his resilience. A left wrist fracture during his freshman year, followed by a broken pinky finger before his junior season, never dampened his determination. Named team captain of UConn during that same junior season, Jackson Jr. led his teammates to the 2023 NCAA national championship, crowning a college career defined by leadership and perseverance.
Selected 36th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic and immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, the forward quickly found his footing in the professional league. His first NBA double-double, recorded as early as January 2024, is a testament to his rapid adjustment to the highest level.
