Player Profile

When A.J. Green scored 27 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves in February 2024, he completed a journey that had seemed mapped out from the start. The son of Kyle Green, an assistant coach at Iowa State, and raised in a basketball family, Austin Jahn Green grew up immersed in the sport, but it was his personal determination that ultimately carried him to the NBA.

At Cedar Falls High School, the young wing became the school's all-time leading scorer and led his team to a state championship. A four-star recruit, he made waves by committing to Northern Iowa, where his father held a position on the coaching staff. It was a bold choice that spoke to his confidence in his own abilities.

Over four college seasons, Green never missed a start, playing in all 99 of his team's games. His consistency and exemplary discipline, particularly at the free-throw line, made him a reliable and well-respected player. He entered the 2020 NBA Draft but chose to return to college to refine his game before declaring for good in 2022.

Going undrafted, Green refused to give up and signed a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. His perseverance paid off: in 2023, he earned a standard contract with the Wisconsin franchise. His 27-point performance against Minnesota perfectly illustrated his ability to seize opportunities when they arise. With his legendary shooting accuracy and strong work ethic, Green continues to climb the ranks of professional basketball.
