Official: Lucas Duféal signs three-year deal with Le Mans Sarthe Basket
Lucas Duféal (2.04 m, 22 years old), who was just named Pro B’s Best Defender, will continue his development at the highest level of French basketball. Le Mans Sarthe Basket officially announced on Monday the arrival of the Martinican forward, who has signed for three seasons.

Lucas Duféal, complete profile and upward trajectory
After his development at Cholet Basket, highlighted by an Espoirs championship title and a Future Trophy win, Lucas Duféal entered professional basketball in summer 2023. On loan to Vichy for two seasons, he quickly found his footing, becoming a defensive reference in Pro B under Guillaume Vizade and then Dounia Issa.
In his second season, Duféal established himself as JAV’s key player, averaging 9.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game. These performances earned him a place in the division’s Top 5 efficiency ratings (16.9) and the Best Defender trophy. His season finish was particularly remarkable, averaging an efficiency rating of 27 in his last four games, leading Vichy to the playoffs.

Anticipated reunion with Vizade and Delaunay
By joining MSB, Duféal will reunite with two familiar faces: coach Guillaume Vizade, with whom he worked at Vichy and also with the U20 French national team (European champions in 2023), and Léopold Delaunay, his former teammate at Cholet and Vichy. This recruitment strengthens an interior rotation already featuring Jonathan Jeanne, Wilfried Yeguete and TaShawn Thomas.
