Following the conclusion of Round 25 of Liga Endesa, Melvin Ejim has been officially named Player of the Round. The Canadian achieves this recognition for the first time in his career after delivering a decisive performance in his team’s victory over La Laguna Tenerife.
The Catalan side found its anchor in Melvin Ejim — a true on-court compass in a game played at maximum intensity.
His impact was felt everywhere. On both ends, in every key stretch, he set the tone and guided his teammates with authority from start to finish.
Historic efficiency rating breaks club record
Melvin Ejim closed the night with a massive 39 efficiency rating, setting a new all-time mark for Hiopos Lleida in Liga Endesa, surpassing the previous 33 held by James Batemon.
His offensive showing was as efficient as it was dominant: 29 points on 7-of-9 shooting inside the arc (78%), 2-of-4 from three, and a perfect 9-of-9 at the line.

He also imposed himself on the glass, grabbing 9 rebounds in a matchup where his team needed that presence, especially with Goloman out. His overall influence showed up in the plus-minus too — a +19 with him on the floor.
And when the game tightened, Ejim found another gear. In the fourth quarter alone, he poured in 15 points, added 5 rebounds, and racked up 22 efficiency points in just 8 minutes — taking full control and decisively tilting the game.
Career-best numbers in fifth Liga Endesa season
With this performance, the Hiopos Lleida player establishes his new career highs in points (29) and efficiency rating (39) in Liga Endesa. A record that comes in his fifth season in the competition, after four previous campaigns with Unicaja and this first one with the Catalan team.
After 153 games in the competition, Ejim is having his best individual season, averaging 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 12.4 efficiency rating per game. He also becomes the second player in Hiopos Lleida history to achieve this recognition, after teammate James Batemon, who was named Player of Round 12 in the current season.
