Monk and Raynaud guide the Kings to victory over the Nets

Malik Monk was the architect of the Sacramento Kings‘ victory over the Brooklyn Nets Sunday night (126-122). The guard scored 32 points total, including 10 crucial points in the final five minutes of play, allowing his team to end a two-game losing streak. His teammate Maxime Raynaud was once again very efficient alongside him, with 22 points on 10/13 shooting and 10 rebounds in 36 minutes.
A clutch performance from Monk in crunch time
Monk’s performance was remarkably efficient. The former Kentucky player hit seven 3-pointers and was perfect from the free throw line going 9 for 9. His surge in the final moments made the difference for the Kings (19-53).
With Sacramento leading 108-105, Monk took over the game. He first hit two consecutive 3-pointers before making two crucial free throws. His final two free throws gave the Kings a 123-120 lead, before Devin Carter sealed the victory with two free throws with 6.6 seconds remaining.
A collective victory despite difficulties
Beyond Monk’s performance, the Kings could count on several contributors. Rookie Maxime Raynaud recorded his 16th double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Devin Carter added 16 points and five rebounds. Precious Achiuwa (14 points, 15 rebounds) and DeMar DeRozan (10 points, eight assists) also contributed to the effort.
For the Nets (17-54), Ben Saraf led the offense with 22 points, followed by Ziaire Williams (18 points) and Nolan Traore (17 points on 6/12 shooting, 2 rebounds and 4 assists in 26 minutes). Despite these individual performances, Brooklyn suffered their seventh consecutive loss. The end of the game turned into a nightmare for the Nets when Traore stepped on the sideline during the final possession, definitively handing the victory to the Kings.
This victory allows Sacramento to get back on the winning track at home against the Nets, their first since December 11, 2023.
