Limoges CSP: Heading for a Major End-of-Season Overhaul?

Limoges CSP is walking a tightrope. Despite increasing its budget and payroll this season, results have been deeply disappointing, leaving the club in a dangerous position at the bottom of the standings. In this context, club decision-makers are reportedly already considering a sweeping overhaul of the sporting structure, according to our sources.
A Sporting Project Already Under Strain
The paradox is a painful one for Cercle Saint-Pierre. On paper, Limoges CSP had given itself more resources to move forward this season. But on the court, the team never really took off and finds itself embroiled in a relegation battle.
The atmosphere around the club has gradually grown tense, marked by poor performances, a locker room reportedly largely unreceptive to Dario Gjergja’s message, and growing skepticism over the sporting decisions made since last summer. The Croatian coach, who arrived with a strong reputation following his long stint at Ostend, had nonetheless been extended through 2028 at the start of the season.
Crawford Palmer and Dario Gjergja Under Pressure
The shake-up could first hit the top of the sporting department. Having returned to the club alongside majority shareholder Lionel Peluhet, Crawford Palmer could lose his position as sporting director. His future looks increasingly uncertain as the club’s leadership apparently wants to reassess the entire sporting structure.
And the rethinking may not stop there. Dario Gjergja is reportedly no longer untouchable despite his recent contract extension. The Limoges management had already publicly put « everyone in the sporting department » to the test a few weeks ago, « regardless of status or current contracts » — a clear sign that nothing is off the table at CSP.
A Rebuild That’s Complicated to Launch This Late
The timing is also a problem for Limoges. Looking to replace a sporting director in April, and then potentially a head coach shortly after, means falling significantly behind in preparing for next season.
In a market that is already well advanced, building a coherent project becomes considerably more difficult. Especially since the future makeup of the roster also remains unclear. While Nicolas Lang and Hugo Invernizzi are still under contract, other French players (Shawn Tanner, Vincent Amsellem and Mamadou Guisse) developed by the Limoges structure may be looking for opportunities elsewhere. At the same time, the significant contracts already in place will limit the room for maneuver of any potential new decision-maker.
The Risk of Yet Another Season of Stagnation
Limoges CSP thus finds itself at a crossroads. Without European prospects, with a weakened sporting foundation and a rebuild that could start late, the club risks entering another cycle of uncertainty.
The institution remains strong, and so does the Beaublanc environment, but that is no longer enough to mask the lack of a clear project. If the changes are confirmed in the coming weeks, they will above all need to give CSP a clear sense of direction. Because by repeatedly starting from scratch, Limoges risks doing nothing more than continuing to spin its wheels.
