Jamal Murray delivered a spectacular offensive display Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. The Canadian guard scored 37 points while hitting 10 three-pointers, including an exceptional half-court shot at the first quarter buzzer, to guide the Denver Nuggets to a convincing 130-117 victory over the Utah Jazz.
Nikola Jokic perfectly complemented Murray’s performance by recording his fifth triple-double in six games with 17 rebounds, 15 points and 12 assists. This collective performance allowed the Nuggets to secure their seventh consecutive victory and confirm their excellent current form.
Cam Johnson also contributed with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Christian Braun added 18 points and six rebounds. This roster depth illustrates Denver’s collective strength this season.
Murray set the tone from the opening tip by hitting three-pointers on each of Denver’s first three possessions, allowing the Nuggets to jump ahead 17-3. The team’s first six field goals all came from beyond the arc, demonstrating remarkable accuracy.
In total, Denver converted 9 of 18 three-point attempts during the first quarter. Murray made five in that period, capping his display with a half-court shot at the buzzer that extended the Nuggets’ lead to 39-28.
For Utah, Brice Sensabaugh led the resistance with 28 points, including six three-pointers, and six rebounds. Kyle Filipowski added 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Kennedy Chandler contributed 16 points and six assists off the bench. Despite these individual efforts, the Jazz suffered their seventh consecutive loss and now have a record of 3 wins and 19 losses over their last 22 games.
The Nuggets will host San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, while the Jazz will travel to Houston on Friday to try to end this losing streak.
