Jalen Williams out at minimum against Cleveland due to hamstring injury

The Thunder announced Sunday that Jalen Williams is suffering from a right hamstring strain. The star forward is out for Monday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:30 PM (French time).
An injury sustained against the Heat
Williams was injured during the second quarter of the Thunder’s 122-120 loss on the Miami Heat court Saturday night. The Oklahoma City team has not communicated about the severity of the strain or a potential return timeline for their key player.

This new injury represents an additional setback for Williams, who had already missed the first 19 games of the season due to a right wrist injury requiring two surgeries. The forward had delayed this operation to participate in the Thunder’s title run last season.
The Thunder missing two starters
Since his return, Williams is posting solid statistics with 16.8 points, 5.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game in 24 appearances. His performances contribute to the Thunder’s exceptional record, which sits atop the NBA with 35 wins and 8 losses.
Oklahoma City will have to make do without two of their regular starters against Cleveland. Isaiah Hartenstein will also miss his 12th consecutive game due to a right calf strain (soleus). This accumulation of injuries is testing the Thunder’s roster depth, despite their position as NBA leaders.
The organization has not specified whether Williams could be available for upcoming games, leaving uncertainty about the duration of his absence. The medical staff will likely evaluate the progress of his injury in the coming days.
