The Edmonton Stingers picked up a hard-fought road victory on Tuesday night, defeating the Saskatoon Mamba 115-108 in a high-scoring CEBL contest. Neither team was able to pull away comfortably, but Edmonton’s depth and collective effort ultimately made the difference in a seven-point final margin.
Hornsby and Bandoumel Lead a Balanced Attack
Nick Hornsby was arguably the most complete player on the floor. The American guard finished with 25 points and a game-high 11 assists in 36.3 minutes, controlling the pace of the game and consistently finding teammates in rhythm. He shared the team scoring lead with Emmanuel Bandoumel, the Canadian forward who added 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in just 25.9 minutes — an efficient and impactful outing.
Stanley Davis Jr. provided a timely boost off the bench, contributing 18 points and 4 rebounds in 23.1 minutes. Tre King added 13 points in 15.3 minutes, while Scott Lindsey chipped in 12 points in under 19 minutes. The Stingers’ American contingent combined for a significant share of Edmonton’s 115 points, giving head coach and staff a reliable scoring base throughout the contest.
Saskatoon Couldn’t Match Edmonton’s Depth
The Mamba put up a fight and kept the game within reach for long stretches. Tevian Jones led Saskatoon with 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 25.1 minutes, while DaJuan Gordon was efficient with 18 points in just 16 minutes. Jaden Bediako provided a double-double effort with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Devonte Bandoo added 15 points and 4 assists.
Despite five players scoring in double figures, Saskatoon could not generate enough stops to overcome Edmonton’s offensive firepower. Jaylin Williams rounded out the Mamba’s contributors with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, but the home team ultimately fell short in a game that was competitive until the final buzzer.
The Stingers’ ability to spread scoring across multiple players — particularly their American roster members — proved to be the decisive factor. With Hornsby orchestrating the offense and Bandoumel providing explosive production in limited minutes, Edmonton showed the kind of balanced attack that can be difficult to contain over 40 minutes.
