Duško Vujošević: Partizan Fans’ Magnificent Farewell at the Belgrade Arena

The Belgrade Arena became a temple of remembrance to bid farewell to a legend. Former players, including Joffrey Lauvergne, and above all the supporters of Partizan Belgrade organized a magnificent tribute to Duško Vujošević, an iconic figure of Serbian basketball who passed away last Wednesday at the age of 67 due to health complications.
An Exceptional Record That Will Forever Be Etched in History
Duško Vujošević will forever be remembered as the most decorated coach in Partizan Belgrade‘s history. Having won 23 trophies under his leadership, he defined an entire era and left his mark on generations of players. His impact on the club and on European basketball will never fade.
The former coach also had an experience in France, leading Limoges CSP during the 2016-2017 season. This French chapter reflected his international reputation and expertise recognized well beyond Serbia’s borders.
Despite the palpable emotion and the unconditional support of their fans who turned out in large numbers, Partizan Belgrade‘s players were unable to secure a victory in honor of their legend. Žalgiris Kaunas prevailed in a Belgrade Arena that was firmly behind the home side.
Sylvain Francisco Shines in a Particularly Charged Context
French point guard Sylvain Francisco once again demonstrated his importance in the Lithuanian system. Posting 18 points and 6 assists for an efficiency rating of 26, he carried his team to this away victory in an emotionally charged setting.
This evening will be remembered for the tribute paid to Dušku Vujošević, whose legacy will continue to inspire Serbian and European basketball for years to come.
