Cholet Basket loses new signing for six weeks

Betclic ELITE - Without their American power forward Keshawn Justice, who underwent surgery for an inguinal hernia and will be out for at least six weeks, Cholet Basket (2 wins in 2 games) has already started looking for a medical replacement to continue their strong start to the season in Betclic ELITE.

Keshawn Justice (6’7″, 25 years old) will miss at least six weeks of competition with Cholet Basket. The American power forward, suffering from an inguinal hernia, will undergo surgery and the club is already looking for a medical replacement to compensate for his absence.

A setback for Cholet despite strong start

Friday evening, Cholet Basket confirmed their excellent start to the Betclic ELITE season by defeating Boulazac at home (92-81). With this second victory in as many games (2-0), the Mauges club settles in the upper rankings. However, the victory was overshadowed by bad news: Keshawn Justice’s unavailability for several weeks.

Justice’s quiet first game

Arriving this summer in Mauges, Keshawn Justice is discovering Europe after two seasons in the G-League with Salt Lake City. Previously at Santa Clara University, he showed promising qualities in his first official game at Meilleraie against Strasbourg (92-74), with 3 points and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes.

Cholet seeks new balance

Coach Fabrice Lefrançois will have to manage without one of his designated new leaders. The club is working behind the scenes to avoid a gap in the rotation, especially as the Betclic ELITE calendar looks challenging. The identity of the medical replacement expected in Mauges should be known soon.
