Caitlin Clark is about to discover a new playing field. NBC Sports announced Tuesday that the Indiana Fever star would join the channel’s NBA coverage as a special contributor for the « Sunday Night Basketball » show. Her first appearance is scheduled for February 1 during the Lakers–Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.
This partnership is part of a coherent strategy since NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation, and Clark had already announced a marketing partnership with Xfinity in March 2024. The 24-year-old player also made a memorable appearance on « Saturday Night Live » on NBC in April 2024.
Clark will join the « Basketball Night in America » team composed of host Maria Taylor and analysts Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, all Basketball Hall of Fame members. « I’m really excited to be part of the Basketball Night in America team this season, » Clark said in a statement. « Carmelo, Vince and Tracy are legends of the game and Maria is a true professional. It will be really fun to join them a few times this season. »
Sam Flood, executive producer of NBC Sports, justifies this choice: « There’s no more iconic figure in women’s basketball right now, or in the game in general. We said to ourselves: let’s have a broader conversation. »

Clark has an impressive resume that legitimizes her presence on air. Two-time WNBA All-Star and selected to the first All-WNBA team in 2024, she won Rookie of the Year after being selected first overall in the draft. At Iowa, she became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history with 3,951 points.
Despite a 2025 season shortened by injuries – limited to just 13 games with averages of 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists – Clark retains immense popularity. The Fever reached the playoff semifinals before falling to eventual champions Las Vegas.
Clark will make a second appearance on March 29 during the game between the Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the defending champions. « She’s going to be in a basketball arena, as she always is, and in her comfort zone, » says Flood, convinced that « the basketball court remains her second home. »
