AS Monaco: New DNCCG Hearing Postponed, Players’ Strike Threat Still Present
Gabriel Pantel-Jouve

The crisis at Monaco Basket has reached another level. As things stand, and according to our information, several Roca Team players are unwilling to take part in Sunday’s game in Chalon-sur-Saône, with salary delays still unresolved.
It’s a stark signal for a club operating in a period of acute financial instability.
After weeks of internal tension, missed commitments and partial or delayed payments, the situation now appears to have pushed some players past their breaking point. The prospect of not playing in Chalon marks a shift in posture—from leverage to action—after similar warnings surfaced ahead of Thursday’s game in Munich.
All of it comes as AS Monaco Basket was supposed to make progress on its takeover file before the DNCCG, a hearing once again postponed, and amid ongoing legal proceedings in Monaco tied to a potential cessation of payments.
If that position is confirmed in the coming hours, the very holding of the game against Chalon could be called into question, or force the club to scramble for an alternative solution. Under current regulations, two forfeits within the same season can result in a general forfeit, with severe sporting consequences.
At this stage, AS Monaco Basket has issued no official communication on this specific situation. Yet the accumulation of unpaid wages is now having clear on-court repercussions, as the Roca Team—still sitting atop Betclic ELITE—continues to operate in an atmosphere marked by uncertainty, tension, and growing instability.
