This Friday, May 30, the 2025 Future Trophy opens in Bourg-en-Bresse. Winner of the 2024 edition and recently crowned Elite Prospects French Champion, JL Bourg intends to conclude a perfect season with a resounding double at home. Against Strasbourg in the quarter-finals (8:30 PM), Nicolas Croisy’s players are also writing the final pages of an exceptional collective adventure.
With 28 wins and only two losses this season, including a perfect 15/15 at home, JL Bourg dominated the Prospects championship. But beyond the numbers, the Future Trophy marks the end of a chapter for many young Bressans.
Wilson Jacques and Ayuba Bryant Jr. will head to NCAA this summer, Leeroy Nijean possibly as well. Anatole Humeau, exemplary captain, and Mapote Benga will complete their development under the red and white colors. Léon Sifferlin could be ready to take the next step. Sunday, after the final, emotions will run high on the Ekinox court, regardless of how this 2025 edition unfolds.
Before dreaming of a second consecutive crown, JL Bourg must clear three hurdles, starting with Strasbourg. If successful, they’ll face the winner of Cholet – Dijon. In the other bracket, Le Mans will face Nanterre to start this 2025 edition while Monaco, unfortunate finalist in 2024, will challenge the Pro B Prospects champion starting at 3:30 PM. All games can be watched live on LNB TV.
Friday’s quarter-final schedule:
1 PM: Le Mans – Nanterre
3:30 PM: Monaco – Roanne
6 PM: Cholet – Dijon
8:30 PM: Bourg – Strasbourg

After their national title, JL Bourg’s Prospects have a unique opportunity to offer one last gift to their fans. Champions in 2024, they could become the first generation in club history to win the Future Trophy twice in a row. The appointment is set for this Friday evening at Ekinox.
