Who is Yago Dos Santos?
At 27 years old, Yago Dos Santos has established himself as one of the leading figures in Brazilian basketball. The 1.75-meter point guard first made his name with Paulistano before taking another step forward at Flamengo, where he spent two seasons between 2020 and 2022.
During his time in Rio de Janeiro, Yago helped Flamengo win back-to-back NBB championships and the 2022 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, cementing his status as one of the country’s premier players.
His performances earned him a move to Europe with Germany’s Ratiopharm Ulm in 2022. There, he played a key role in the club’s historic first German championship in 2023, averaging 15.0 points and 5.7 assists per game. His impact was recognized with the Bundesliga Finals MVP award.
Yago then joined Serbian powerhouse Crvena Zvezda, where he gained valuable EuroLeague experience and became one of Brazil’s most prominent representatives on the European stage. In April 2026, he moved to Virtus Bologna for the remainder of the season.
A regular member of Brazil’s national team, Yago drew international attention during the 2023 FIBA World Cup, highlighted by a remarkable performance against Ivory Coast in which he recorded 24 points and 11 assists while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range.
