Real Madrid continues to make history. With an 81-70 victory on the Fonteta court, the Madrid club won the 2024-2025 Liga Endesa by sweeping Valencia Basket to conclude the series 3-0. This championship marks Sergio Llull’s 25th national title, an absolute record in Spanish basketball. Facundo Campazzo, brilliant throughout the series, was named MVP of the playoff finals.

Real Madrid dominant in a packed Fonteta

Game 3 had the feel of a farewell to Fonteta, Valencia Basket’s home since 1987, which is preparing to move a hundred meters away to the Roig Arena (15,800 seats). Despite a passionate crowd and an intense start from the home team, Real Madrid didn’t waver. Led by Facundo Campazzo’s masterful tempo control, Chus Mateo’s men took control of their opponents thanks to their defense (9 blocks total) and offensive efficiency.

The second half proved fatal for the home team, unable to contain Madrid’s 15-0 run at the start of the third quarter. Campazzo, with 9 points and 8 assists in this decisive game, once again orchestrated the performance. He finished the series averaging 13 points and 7 assists for a 14.7 PIR, earning him his second Finals MVP trophy after 2019.

Sergio Llull makes history: 25 national titles

At 37, Sergio Llull enters the legend books. With this new title, the Mahón-born guard surpasses Clifford Luyk and Rafael Rullán to become the most decorated player in Spanish national competitions (25 trophies). He now leads Juan Carlos Navarro in Liga Endesa titles (9).

« Since 2012, Sergio Llull has won at least one national title every season. He’s now at 14 consecutive seasons with a trophy, » highlights the ACB website.

His record? 9 Liga Endesa, 7 Copa del Rey, and 9 Supercopa Endesa titles. Notably, Llull has planted his flag in 12 different cities during championships, finally including Valencia, which was missing from his collection. A historic chapter closed at Fonteta, on all levels.

Campazzo’s growing legacy

Already MVP of the Liga Endesa regular season and Copa del Rey this season, Facundo Campazzo (5’11 », 34 years old) adds another individual accolade to his collection. With this 2025 title, he increases his trophy count with Madrid in ACB to 13 (5 Ligas, 6 Supercopas, 2 Copas), not counting his two EuroLeague titles.

« Facu » continues to prove he’s one of Europe’s most decisive point guards, capable of taking control in crucial moments as he did in Game 2, where he scored 9 crucial points in crunch time.
