Regional Audit Office points out « dysfunctions » in ASVEL association management
Gabriel Pantel-Jouve
While ASVEL’s accounts are still not in good shape and salary delays were again reported this month – raising fears of potential payment defaults – an investigation by Radio France’s investigative unit further damages Tony Parker’s businessman reputation.
This Friday, March 7, during prime listening time (7:13 AM) on France’s most listened-to radio station, France Inter, journalist Marion Bothorel presented the outline of her investigation published on francetvinfo.fr and in Secret d’infos this Saturday, March 8 at 1:20 PM. Here’s the introduction:
« Considered the best French basketball player of all time, Tony Parker launched into business with ambition. But between risky investments, fragile financial statements and uncertain projects, his entrepreneurial journey has had its ups and downs. »

Beyond ASVEL’s situation (with some inaccuracies though), which has severely deteriorated since 2022 with risky and complex partnerships (Smart Good Things, Fedcom), Radio France’s investigation team examined his role as ambassador for investments in the Democratic Republic of Congo, his loss-making academies, his real estate project at the Villard-de-Lans ski resort (Isère) which he owns, and his unfulfilled promises to candidates from the M6 TV show « Who Wants to Be My Business Partner? »
With his ambition to be even more successful in business than in his professional basketball career (approximately 160 million euros earned), Tony Parker finds himself under scrutiny in a way he had never experienced before.
