EuroLeague Women 2026-27 qualifying round opens, Flammes Carolo Basket routs KP Brno

The EuroLeague Women's 2026-2027 season got underway on September 23, with four qualifying-round games tipping off across Europe. Flammes Carolo Basket posted the day's highest score, beating KP Brno féminin 101-81 at 5:00 p.m. Kibirkstis-TOKS opened the day's action with a 91-69 win over AZS Poznań Féminin at 4:00 p.m., while Crvena Zvezda edged out a 75-69 road victory over Zabiny Brno féminin at the same time. Emlak Konut SK féminin closed the slate with a 91-68 rout of Panathlitikos Sykeon féminin at 6:30 p.m.

Four double-digit scorers power the French side

Flammes Carolo Basket, the lone French club in this qualifying round and based in Charleville-Mézières, spread its scoring load across the lineup. Four starters finished in double figures — 21, 20, 19 and 15 points — as the French side pulled away for a 20-point margin.

KP Brno féminin still had an answer of its own: one starter poured in 30 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-points, adding 8 rebounds and an assist in 27.2 minutes, the top scorer of the game. It simply wasn't enough to keep pace with Flammes Carolo Basket's balanced attack.

The other three qualifying games

Crvena Zvezda's win at Zabiny Brno féminin came on the back of an 18-point, 8-assist performance from one of its starters, who logged those numbers in 28.1 minutes to steer the 75-69 road victory. Emlak Konut's blowout of Panathlitikos Sykeon featured three starters in double figures: Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah scored 19 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists, Tafadzwa Mavunga matched her with 19 points on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc, and Lindsay Allen added 18 points and 5 assists while going 4-of-6 from 3-points. Kibirkstis-TOKS, meanwhile, got 21 points on 7-of-15 3-point shooting from one player and an 18-point, 9-rebound, 5-assist line from another to hold off AZS Poznań Féminin, whose top scorer answered with 22 points of her own.

With one round played, Flammes Carolo Basket tops the standings at 1-0 with a 101-point scoring average, ahead of Emlak Konut and Kibirkstis-TOKS, who each opened 1-0 with 91 points. Crvena Zvezda rounds out the winners at 1-0 with 75 points, while AZS Poznań Féminin, KP Brno féminin, Panathlitikos Sykeon féminin and Zabiny Brno féminin all sit at 0-1 after the opening day.
