Boulazac defeats Strasbourg and completely revives play-in race

Boulazac delivered a standout performance this Sunday in Betclic ELITE. Facing Strasbourg, fourth in the championship, Alexandre Ménard’s men delivered an almost perfect game to win comfortably (95-76) at the Palio. A victory that confirms their excellent momentum after the win against ASVEL and fully revives their play-in ambitions.
Boulazac gains momentum and stifles Strasbourg
After a balanced first quarter (18-18), Boulazac gradually took control of the game through increased defensive intensity. More aggressive, the Périgord team disrupted a very inefficient Strasbourg side, particularly from 3-point range (4/28 for the entire game).
Despite early fouls on Hugo Robineau and Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot’s injury, the home team found solutions. Angelo Warner energized the offense while the collective perfectly exploited transitions and outside shots.
At halftime, the gap was already significant (44-32), reflecting growing dominance.
Decisive outside shooting
The turning point of the game was confirmed after the break. Boulazac performed with impressive accuracy from beyond the arc (11/20), embodied by players like Zeke Moore, Will Cherry and KJ Williams.
Facing them, Strasbourg collapsed, unable to find rhythm without their point guard Marcus Keene, who was absent. The gap quickly exceeded 20 points (72-50 at the end of the third quarter), ending all suspense.
The final minutes were just a formality for BBD, carried by their crowd, with Krubally and Williams finishing the job.
A crucial victory in the race for safety and play-in
With this success, Boulazac confirms they must be reckoned with in this end of season. Now still in the race for 10th place qualifying for the play-in, the Périgord club is also moving very close to safety, just one win away from securing it mathematically.
In a still very tight championship, this performance against a top 4 team sends a strong message.
Next appointments for BBD: a trip to Saint-Quentin then hosting Chalon-sur-Saône at the Palio.
